  1. Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad will soon start a night safari, now that the Central Zoo Authority of India (CZAI) has lifted its ban. The safari will showcase nocturnal animals and is planned to operate from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm. It is expected to be ready and open to the public within a year.
  2. Delhi Cabinet approved the implementation of the National Education Policy-2020 in the national capital. It has also approved smart classrooms worth over 900 crore rupees in the city.
  3. The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has launched the ‘Kalaa Setu – Real-Time Language Tech for Bharat’ Challenge through its WaveX Startup Accelerator Platform. This national initiative invites AI startups across India to participate. The challenge aims to develop indigenous and scalable solutions that can automatically generate audio, video, and graphic content from text. It also focuses on supporting multiple Indian languages to promote regional inclusivity.
  4. The Andhra Pradesh government has launched a pioneering AI-based mosquito control programme named the Smart Mosquito Surveillance System (SMoSS). This innovative initiative aims to monitor and reduce mosquito populations efficiently during the monsoon season. It is the first of its kind in India to integrate artificial intelligence with public health vector control.
  5. The Haryana government shared plans to make Asia’s biggest jungle safari in the Aravalli Hills. The large project will help protect wildlife and attract tourists, while also offering job opportunities to local people. This step is a major move towards eco-friendly development.
  6. The Kashmir Valley experienced unprecedented high temperatures in 2025. On July 5, Srinagar recorded 37.4°C, the highest in over 70 years. Pahalgam, a popular health resort, also noted its highest-ever temperature at 31.6°C.
  7.   Tata Steel has signed an agreement with Australia’s InQuik Group to bring modular bridge technology to India. The plan is to use InQuik’s prefabricated steel formwork, which speeds up bridge building and keeps costs low. The move will help link remote regions and strengthen transport links.
  8. The RBI has announced that it will hold an auction on July 11, 2025, to sell two government bonds worth ₹25,000 crore. The auction will happen on its e-Kuber platform from its Mumbai office. These bonds will help the government raise funds for long-term financial needs.
  9.   The World Bank has ranked India as the fourth most equal country in the world in its 2025 report, with a Gini Index of 25.5. This marks major progress in income equality, especially for a country as big and varied as India. It shows that government efforts to reduce poverty and support the poor.
  10. The Japan Coast Guard Ship JCGS Itsukushima arrived at the Chennai Port on Monday (July 7, 2025) as part of its ‘Global Ocean Voyage Training’ programme.
  11. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held delegation-level talks with Brazilian President Lula da Silva in Brasília. They discussed strengthening the strategic partnership, focusing on key areas like trade and defence.
  12. The 17th BRICS Summit was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. During the summit, Indonesia was officially welcomed as a new member of BRICS. Leaders also announced 10 new partner countries, including Belarus, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Malaysia, Thailand, Cuba, Vietnam, Uganda, and Uzbekistan.
  13.   India chose to abstain from voting on the UN General Assembly resolution concerning the situation in Afghanistan. It explained that a “business as usual” approach will not bring the desired change for the Afghan people. India stressed the need for new and targeted efforts to truly support Afghanistan. It also highlighted that meaningful progress requires a fresh and practical strategy.
  14.   The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has launched a pilot nomination-based golden visa programme for residents of India and Bangladesh. This new policy offers lifetime residency in the UAE on payment of a fee of AED 100,000 (around Rs 23.3 lakh). Unlike the previous golden visa scheme, it does not require investment in property or business.
  15.  The world’s first-ever malaria treatment suitable for babies and very young children has been approved for use by Switzerland. Drug manufacturer Novartis has received approval from Swiss authorities for its new malaria drug named Coartem.
  16.  Indian broadcaster Sanjog Gupta has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the International Cricket Council (ICC). the ICC Chairman Jay Shah said that Mr Gupta will bring extensive experience in sports strategy and commercialisation, which will be invaluable for the ICC.
  17.   In Cricket, Indian spinner Deepti Sharma is on the verge of becoming the number-one bowler in the ICC women’s T20 International rankings for the first time in her career.
