- President Droupadi Murmu presented the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 Awards in New Delhi . Indore was named India’s cleanest city for the eighth consecutive year. Surat and Navi Mumbai secured second and third places among cities with 3 to 10 lakh population. Ahmedabad was declared the cleanest city among those with over 10 lakh population. The survey was conducted under the Swachh Bharat Mission by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
- Gujarat has become the first Indian state to launch a Tribal Genome Sequencing Project. It aimed at improving healthcare for tribal communities through genetic research.
- The Government of India has launched the ₹1,000 crore ADEETIE scheme to boost energy efficiency in MSMEs. it is implemented by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency under the Ministry of Power. The scheme offers 5% interest subvention for micro and small enterprises, and 3% for medium ones. It also includes audits, project reports, and post-implementation support. Phase I will cover 60 clusters across 14 energy-intensive sectors, expanding to 100 more in Phase II. ADEETIE aims to cut MSME energy use by up to 50% and drive ₹9,000 crore in green investments.
- The Lok Sabha Select Committee has submitted its report on the Income Tax Bill, 2025. The bill aims to replace the Income Tax Act, 1961, with effect from April 1, 2026. The committee suggested 285 changes focused mainly on simplifying the bill’s language and removing contentious clauses.

- Scientists in the UK used a three-person in vitro fertilization (IVF) technique to bring to life eight children and spared them from genetic mitochondrial disease. The infants-four girls and four boys, including one set of identical twins-were born using DNA from three people.
- Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya outlined India’s strategy towards finishing among the top 10 nations in the 2036 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. Speaking at the Khelo Bharat Conclave in Delhi, the Minister said sports is a public movement. He focused that every goals can be achieved only if everyone works together.
- Lakshmi Jadala who is Asia’s top-ranked para lawn tennis player with an intellectual disability. She clinched the gold medal at the National Tennis Championship 2025 (Disability Sports) held in Gwalior of Madhya Pradesh. With this triumphant win, 15-year-old Jadala has officially qualified for the Special Olympics World Games 202 which is set to take place in Cairo of Egypt.
