  1. The President Smt. Droupadi Murmu appointed new Governors in Haryana and Goa and a new Lieutenant Governor in Ladakh. Former Civil Aviation Minister Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju has been appointed as Governor of Goa while Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh will be the Governor of Haryana. Kavinder Gupta has been appointed as Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.
  2. Punjab Cabinet has approved the Punjab Prevention of Offences Against Holy Scripture(s) Bill, 2025. The decision was taken during a meeting of the Council of Ministers, chaired by the Chief Minister. The bill has been approved to ensure stringent punishment for those committing the heinous crime of sacrilege.
  3. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has approved the transfer of 6.85 lakh square meters of land the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to ease traffic congestion in Secunderabad, Telangana. The land will be used for constructing elevated corridors along State Highway-1 (SH-1) and National Highway-44 (NH-44).
  4. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has openly accepted responsibility for the Pahalgam terror attack that occurred in April 2025, describing it as a significant security failure and a grave lapse that resulted in the deaths of several innocent civilians.
  5. The nternational Solar Alliance (ISA) will convene its Seventh Regional Committee Meeting (RCM) for the Asia and Pacific region in Colombo from today. The event will bring together government officials, private sector leaders, technical institutions, and regional organisations to accelerate solar deployment in the region. In Hockey, Jharkhand crowned as the Champions of the 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2025 defeating Odisha by 1-0. The final match was played at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh AstroTurf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
  6. In Football, Chelsea Football Club made history by winning the first-ever FIFA Club World Cup, beating Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 3-0 in a stunning final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Cole Palmer became a star, scoring twice in eight minutes and setting up Joao Pedro for the third just before halftime.
