  1. The All-India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) of New Delh is organising Shalyacon 2025. Its a  three-day national seminar starting from today for celebration of the auspicious ‘Sushruta Jayanti’. Basically it Celebrated annually on 15th July Sushruta Jayanti commemorates the legendary Acharya Sushruta, revered as the Father of Surgery.
  2. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India expanded the Sanchar Mitra Scheme into a nationwide movement. The scheme engages student volunteers as digital ambassadors to promote telecom awareness and digital literacy. This initiative aims to bridge the communication gap between citizens and the telecom ecosystem.
  3. Sonali Mishra has made history by becoming the first woman Director General (DG) of (RPF) the Railway Protection Force . She is a senior 1988-batch IPS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre.
  4. The National Board for Wildlife has given initial approval to divert 142 hectares of forest land in Karnataka’s Sharavathi Valley Lion-Tailed Macaque Sanctuary. This move has sparked controversy due to concerns about ecological damage and the lack of final forest clearance. The sanctuary is home to around 700 endangered lion-tailed macaques. With only about 2,500 of these primates left worldwide, protecting their habitat is crucial.
  5. India has recently introduced its first customer-focused incentive scheme for electric trucks under the PM E-DRIVE initiative. The scheme offers financial support of up to Rs 9.6 lakh per vehicle. It aims to accelerate the adoption of electric trucks in key sectors like ports, logistics, cement, and steel.
  6. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) completed the third Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV) Landing Experiment (LEX) recently at the Aeronautical Test Range (ATR) in Chitradurga, Karnataka. This is the third and final test in the series of LEX (03)
  7. Gingee Fort in Tamil Nadu’s Villupuram district has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The announcement was made during the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee in Paris. It is part of the Maratha Military Landscapes which is a group of 12 forts recognized for their cultural and historical significance.
  8. The World Health Organization (WHO) has recognised India’s pioneering efforts in integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) with traditional medicine, particularly Ayush systems.
  9. UNESCO added three historic sites in Cambodia, linked to the Khmer Rouge’s brutal regime, to its World Heritage List. This decision was made during the 47th Session of the World Heritage Committee in Paris.
  10. Iga Swiatek won her first Wimbledon title on July 12, 2025, by defeating Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in just 57 minutes. She completely dominated the final on Centre Court, leaving Anisimova no chance to respond. With this historic “double bagel” win, Swiatek added another major title to her record.
  11. Italy and the Netherlands have qualified for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. They secured their spots on the final day of the Europe Qualifiers. The tournament will be held in India and Sri Lanka next year.
  12. Harikrishnan A. Ra., a 23-year-old from Chennai, became India’s 87th Grandmaster. He achieved his final GM norm at the La Plagne International Chess Festival in France on July 11, 2025. He completed a dedicated seven-year journey from International Master to Grandmaster.
