- SBI executes first gold trade on India International Bullion Exchange (IIBX). The State Bank of India (SBI) conducted its first-ever gold trade as a Special Category Client (SCC) on the India International Bullion Exchange (IIBX). This step aims to make gold imports and trading more transparent and efficient. The initiative will help MSME jewellers access better prices and streamline bullion transactions under India’s new regulated ecosystem.
- 55th Kerala State Film Awards announced.The 55th Kerala State Film Awards for 2024 were announced by Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cherian. ‘Manjummel Boys’ won Best Film, while Mammootty bagged Best Actor for ‘Bramayugam’. The film category jury was headed by actor Prakash Raj and the writing section by Madhu Eravankara. A total of 128 films were submitted for consideration.
- Mansukh Mandaviya to represent India at World Summit for Social Development (WSSD-2). Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will lead India’s delegation at WSSD-2 in Doha, Qatar (4–6 November 2025). The summit revisits the 1995 Copenhagen commitments on social inclusion, employment, and poverty eradication, reaffirming global solidarity toward sustainable development goals.
- UPI payments go global with Malaysia integration. NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) has partnered with Razorpay Curlec to enable UPI-based payments in Malaysia. The system allows Indian travellers to make real-time payments to Malaysian merchants using any UPI-enabled app. This step strengthens India’s digital payment diplomacy and global fintech influence.
- Maldives introduces generational ban on tobacco and vaping. The Maldives has become the first country in the world to implement a generational ban on smoking and vaping. The law, effective from 1 November 2025, prohibits anyone born after 1 January 2007—including tourists—from buying or using tobacco products. The policy aligns with WHO’s goal of a smoke-free generation.

- IOA announces cash rewards for Asian Youth Games medalists. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) declared cash awards for athletes and coaches after India’s 48-medal finish at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Manama, Bahrain. Gold medalists will receive ₹5 lakh, silver ₹3 lakh, bronze ₹2 lakh, and fourth-place finishers ₹50,000. Coaches of medal winners will get ₹1 lakh each.
- Kabaddi teams to get ₹10 lakh reward each for Asian Youth Games success. The report highlights India’s rapid digital infrastructure growth led by UPI, Aadhaar, and the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
- ISRO to test reusable launch vehicle prototype ‘Pushpak-2’. ISRO is set to conduct the second runway landing experiment of its Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV) Pushpak-2 in Karnataka. The test aims to validate autonomous landing technology crucial for future cost-effective space missions and satellite launches.
- RBI issues draft norms for green deposits and ESG lending. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released draft guidelines on green deposits and ESG-linked lending to promote sustainable finance. Banks will be required to disclose the use of green funds and align with India’s climate transition goals.
- Government launches ‘Digital Gram Seva’ campaign. The Ministry of Electronics & IT launched the Digital Gram Seva campaign to expand e-governance services in 1 lakh villages by 2027.
