- The Government has decided to conduct the Population Census – 2027 in two phases, along with the enumeration of castes.
- The first phase will be conducted in hilly and snow-hit areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Ladakh beginning 1st of October, 2026. The second phase covering other parts of the country will be held from 1st of March 2027. The last census was conducted in 2011.
- The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare is conducting the 13th Pension Adalat, under the chairmanship of Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The theme of Pension Adalat is ‘Family Pension’, which aims to resolve 417 grievances related to family pension matters pertaining to 17 Departments and Ministries. These include the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare and the Department of Financial Services.
- All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi to set up a Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare (AI-CoE). The new centre will focus on developing cutting-edge AI-driven solutions aimed at strengthening key national health programmes across India.
- President Droupadi Murmu has promulgated The Ladakh Official Languages Regulation 2025, and this regulation has extended to the entire Union Territory. The Ministry of Law and Justice notified this regulation yesterday and recognised English, Hindi, Urdu, Bhoti and Purgi as official languages to be used for all or any of the official purposes of the Union Territory.
- Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar chaired the 4th meeting of the National Council for Senior Citizens in New Delhi.
- Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath chaired a meeting with the members of the 16th Central Finance Commission. CM Yogi highlighted the achievements of UP governments and informed about the expectations of the state. CM Yogi specifically demanded that Uttar Pradesh’s share, which is currently 41 percent for all states, should be increased to 50 percent.
- The governments of Assam and Meghalaya have recently announced a collaborative initiative to establish a 55-megawatt hydropower and irrigation project. This development is part of a broader effort to address urban flooding in Guwahati and resolve a longstanding boundary dispute between the two states.
- 11 persons have died while 33 people, including a six-year-old girl, were injured due to stampede in Chinnaswamy Stadiumof Bengaluru where the RCB fans had gathered in thousands to celebrate the victory of Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2025 championship. Four persons were brought dead in Vaidehi Hospital and six persons in Bowring Hospital in the city. The death is caused due to suffocation.
- Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, has been conferred with the Global Leadership Award 2025 by the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) at its 8th annual Leadership Summit held in Washington, D.C.
- President Smt Droupadi Murmu conferred upon 92 Distinguished Service Decorations during the Defence Investiture Ceremony 2025 (Phase-II) at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi. Personnel of the Armed Forces, Indian Coast Guard and Border Roads Organisation were awarded by the President. 30 Param Vishisht Seva Medals, five Uttam Yudh Seva Medals and 57 Ati Vishisht Seva Medals (AVSMs) were given to the personnel for distinguished service.

Mudadevannavar a Medical Officer, has etched her name in history as the first female officer to be awarded the prestigious Balidaan Badge. This accolade not only symbolizes her exceptional dedication and resilience but also serves as an inspiration for countless aspiring defence personnel across the nation.
- Squadron Leader Manisha Padhi has made history by becoming the first female officer to be appointed as an Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to a Governor.
- Lieutenant Commander Yashasvi Solanki has been appointed as an Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the President of India, the first time a woman officer from the Indian Navy has assumed the position.
- The first woman to be promoted to a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) rank in the Indian Army is Preeti Rajak, who was promoted to the rank of Subedar. Rajak, a champion trap shooter, joined the Indian Army as a Havildar in 2022. Her promotion was a special one, recognizing her outstanding performance and achievements in the sport.
- Dr. Seema Rao is India’s first and only female commando trainer. She has trained special forces in India for over two decades without compensation.
- India’s first international all-women Tri-Services sailing expedition returned to Mumbai after completing a 3,600-nautical mile voyage to Seychelles and back over 55 days. The 11-member crew, comprising officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, sailed aboard the indigenous 50-foot vessel Triveni, which is equipped with modern navigation and communication systems.
- India has won the presidency of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) in the election, which was held between India and Austria. India’s candidacy received widespread support from across the membership with 87 votes out of 141 votes.
