- Union Minister of Earth Sciences Dr. Jitendra Singh today launched the Indigenously developed high resolution Bharat Forecasting System (BFS) in New Delhi. It Developed by the Pune-based Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology. BFS will provide forecasts within 6-kilometer resolution-the highest in the world-which will allow the meteorological department to predict small-scale weather features more accurately.
- Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that around 15 foreign universities will establish campuses in India by this academic year for which government has granted permission for this.
- IRCTC Launches Bharat-Bhutan Mystic Mountain Tour From June 28. Bharat Gaurav train will depart from Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway Station with 150 passengers for a 13-night and 14-day trip.
- A new sub-variant of Covid-19, named NB.1.8.1, was identified in India. This variant is a descendant of the Omicron lineage JN.1 and has raised concerns due to its potential transmissibility. The World Health Organization (WHO) classified it as a ‘Variant Under Monitoring’ (VUM).
- Uttar Pradesh has launched India’s first jungle safari train equipped with a Vistadome coach. It is Connecting the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve and Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary.
- Ministry of Panchayati Raj officially launched the Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI) Version 2.0 at a two-day National Writeshop held in New Delhi from 26–27 May 2025. This upgraded framework has designed to help Gram Panchayats.

- The first batch of women cadets of the National Defence Academy (NDA) from its 148th course are inching closer to their day of marching past the Antim Pag known as the final step at the triservices academy. 148th course of the NDA, which is scheduled to take place on May 29 and 30. Seventeen women cadets are passing out from the academy along with their 300 plus male counterparts. An interim order passed by the Supreme Court of India in August 2021 had paved the way for the admission of the women cadets into the NDA.
- China is set to launch its first mission to survey and sample a near-Earth asteroid this week. The Tianwen-2 mission aims to explore 469219 Kamo‘oalewa, a unique asteroid that orbits the Sun close to Earth.
- Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have jointly uncovered a new source of crude oil in the North Wafra Wara-Burgan field of the neutral zone which marking their first major energy discovery since 2020. The site has shown a production capacity of over 500 barrels per day.
