PM Modi Arrives in Malaysia, Praises Warm Welcome by PM Anwar Ibrahim

Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his two-day official visit to Malaysia on Saturday. He received a warm welcome in Kuala Lumpur from Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. In a special gesture, Mr Ibrahim personally received him at the airport along with senior Malaysian ministers. The welcome also included colourful cultural performances.

Soon after arrival, both leaders travelled together to a community programme. Mr Modi praised the strong people-to-people ties between India and Malaysia. He also called the Indian diaspora a “living bridge” between the two nations.

PM Modi Highlights ‘IMPACT’ Vision for Stronger India–Malaysia Ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Indian diaspora at the ‘Selamat Datang Modi Ji’ event in Kuala Lumpur during his two-day visit to Malaysia. He said the guiding word of India–Malaysia relations is IMPACT, meaning India-Malaysia Partnership for Advancing Collective Transformation. Around 15,000 diaspora members attended the event, which was also addressed by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Mr Modi called the diaspora a “living bridge” between both nations. He highlighted growing economic cooperation and noted that over 100 Indian IT companies operate in Malaysia. He also announced that UPI will soon launch in Malaysia. Additionally, he announced OCI expansion, a scholarship, and a new Indian consulate.
