1. Onam Celebrations:-
Keralites across the globe celebrated Thiru Onam with great enthusiasm. The festival marks the homecoming of King Mahabali. Entire Kerala remained in festive mood for several days.
2. Teachers’ Day 2025 :-
India celebrated Teachers’ Day on Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birth anniversary. President Droupadi Murmu conferred National Awards to Teachers at Vigyan Bhawan.
3. GST Reforms 2025:-
Government simplified GST into two slabs of 5% and 18%. Household goods, medicines, and farm equipment saw reduced tax rates.
4. PM Modi on GST :-
Prime Minister Modi called GST rationalisation the biggest reform since Independence. He announced new rates would start from September 22.
5. Tata to Build Rafale Fuselages:-
Tata Advanced Systems will manufacture complete Rafale fuselages in Hyderabad from 2028. The project will support both Indian and global demand.
6. Air-Launched LRLACM:-
India is modifying Su-30 jets to carry new 1,500 km range missiles. These long-range precision missiles will be operational by 2027.
7. India-EFTA FTA:-
India signed a free trade pact with Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein. The agreement, effective October 1, includes sustainability clauses.
8. India–Singapore MoUs :-
India and Singapore concluded five MoUs during talks in New Delhi. Cooperation covered space, civil aviation, shipping, and digital asset innovation.
9. UPSC Centre of Excellence :-
UPSC Chairman Ajay Kumar announced a Centre of Excellence. The Centre will collect best practices from UPSC and state commissions.
10. NIRF Rankings 2025 :-
IIT-Madras ranked first in NIRF for the seventh year. IISc Bengaluru and IIT-Mumbai secured second and third places respectively.
11. INS Trikand in Bright Star Exercise:-
INS Trikand reached Egypt for multinational exercise Bright Star. The Indian Navy participated with global forces to strengthen maritime cooperation.
12. Sagar Kavach-2 Drill:-
India launched coastal security exercise Sagar Kavach-2 in Bay of Bengal. The exercise simulated seaborne terror threats and dummy explosive placements.
13. World Boxing Championships:-
World Boxing Championships 2025 began in Liverpool. India fielded a 20-member squad including Nikhat Zareen, Lovlina Borgohain, and Pooja Rani.
14. Vrindavani Vastra Return:-
The British Museum agreed to loan Assam’s Vrindavani Vastra. This 16th-century silk textile will be displayed in India from 2027.
15. Veteran Spinner Amit Mishra Retires:-
Amit Mishra retired from all cricket at 42. He ended a 25-year career with IPL records and key India performances.
