1. Government Confirms Census 2027 Schedule, First After 16 Years. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai announced that the Government has decided to conduct India’s next Census in 2027, ending a 16-year gap. This Census will integrate digital tools and updated geo-referenced mapping.
2. Karnataka Launches e-Swathu 2.0 for Rural Property Digitisation. Karnataka launched the upgraded e-Swathu 2.0 platform to streamline rural property management in gram panchayats. CM Siddaramaiah stated that the system will regularise 95 lakh properties and generate nearly ₹2,000 crore in additional state revenue.
