1. Sign Language Day – 2025: Promoting Inclusion and Rights.
The Indian Sign Language Research and Training Centre (ISLRTC), under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, will host a programme in New Delhi to observe Sign Language Day – 2025. The event will highlight how sign language is essential for equality, dignity and full participation of deaf persons. Government officials and disability rights advocates will emphasise policies to strengthen recognition, research, and training in sign language. Organisers plan workshops and sessions to raise awareness among the public and government bodies.
2. India’s Earth Observation Satellite Ambition by 2040.
India plans to launch 119 satellites by 2040 for Earth observation (EO) and related functions, making this one of its most ambitious space infrastructure drives. The investment is estimated between ₹40,000 and ₹70,000 crore. Satellite sizes will range from under 100 kg to over 1,000 kg, combining lightweight platforms and heavy, advanced ones. Experts said this drive will deepen remote sensing capabilities, monitor environment, agriculture, disaster management, and strengthen national security.
3. Developing the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple under PRASAD.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated development works at the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex under the PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive) scheme. Vice President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan released four compiled volumes of speeches by Prime Minister Narendra Modi titled Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas. The books were published by the Publications Division in New Delhi. They collate major addresses to showcase the government’s vision and policies across welfare, development, trust and effort. 6. National Conference on e-Governance 2025 in Visakhapatnam.
The 28th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG) 2025, organised by DARPG and MeitY in collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh government, began in Visakhapatnam from 22–23 September under the theme “Viksit Bharat: Civil Service and Digital Transformation.” Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu (Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh) and Dr. Jitendra Singh (Union Minister) inaugurated the conference. Delegates from States, Union Territories, academia and industry will attend plenary and breakout sessions on AI, cybersecurity, inclusive digital services, benchmarking, agriculture digital tools, and governance innovations. The conference will also present National Awards for e-Governance 2025 to 19 exemplary initiatives spanning Central, State, District, and local bodies.
7. Solar Power Lights Up Dhordo Village, Gujarat.
Dhordo village in Kutch, Gujarat, has become the state’s fourth fully solar-powered village under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. The scheme solarised 81 homes in the village, producing about 177 kW of power. Each household is expected to save around ₹16,064 annually on electricity. The move reduces dependence on conventional grid power and boosts clean energy adoption in rural areas.
8. Industrial Park Rating System (IPRS) 3.0 Launched.
Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal released IPRS 3.0, the updated Industrial Park Rating System, in New Delhi.
