1. India to Host Conclave of Chiefs of UN Troop-Contributing Countries. “India Leads Global Peacekeeping Dialogue”. The Indian Army will host the Conclave of Chiefs of United Nations Troop Contributing Countries (UNTCC) in New Delhi from October 14–16, 2025. The event will bring together 32 countries, including 15 Chiefs and 17 Vice Chiefs of Defence Staff, to strengthen UN peacekeeping operations. The conclave will focus on improving troop preparedness, logistics, and cooperation in conflict zones.
2. Fourth Edition of India–Australia Military Exercise ‘AUSTRAHIND 2025’ Begins in Perth. “Strengthening Defence Bonds Across the Indian Ocean”. The AUSTRAHIND 2025 joint military exercise between India and Australia commenced in Perth. The exercise aims to enhance interoperability, counterterrorism tactics, and joint operational readiness. It forms part of the expanding defence partnership under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between both nations.
3. Supreme Court Judge BV Nagarathna Advocates Gender Equality and Protection for Girls. “Empowering the Girl Child Beyond Survival”. Supreme Court Judge Justice BV Nagarathna raised concern over the declining sex ratio in some Indian states, citing female infanticide and foeticide. From October 12, 2025, travellers from non-EU countries, including India, must comply with the European Union’s new Entry/Exit System (EES). The system mandates fingerprints, facial scans, and passport data at border entry points across Schengen countries like Norway, Switzerland, and Iceland. Ireland and Cyprus are exempt from this regulation, which aims to enhance security and streamline immigration monitoring.
