1. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurates Sansad Khel Mahakumbh in Lucknow.
2. India’s first satellite Aryabhatta completed 50 years . Launched on this day in 1975, the satellite was named after the ancient Indian mathematician and astronomer Aryabhatta.
3. The Andhra Pradesh government has taken a significant step toward social equity by approving an ordinance that introduces sub-categorisation among Scheduled Castes. This initiative seeks to distribute reservation benefits more justly among various SC sub-castes.
4. The Uttarakhand government has initiated the Adarsh Sanskrit Village Programme to promote the ancient language of Sanskrit.
5. India’s Himanshu Jakhar made history by winning the country’s first-ever Asian U18 Athletics Championships gold in the men’s javelin throw in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. His winning throw of 67.57 meters, though below of his personal best of 74.56 meters.
