1. The Lok Sabha passed the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2025. 288 Members Voted in Favour and 232 Members Voted Against the Bill. The House also gave approval to the Mussalman Wakf (Repeal) Bill 2024 which repeals Mussalman Wakf Act 1923. Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju moved the bill in the Lok Sabha.

2. The centre has set a target to set up 728 Eklavya Model Residential Schools benefiting around 3.5 lakh Schedule Tribe students across the country.

3. The Maharashtra government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Microsoft Corporation for a strategic partnership to establish three cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) centres of excellence in Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur to accelerate the adoption of AI technologies within the state’s administration.

4. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has constructed over 5,600 kilometres of National Highways against the target of 5 thousand 150 kilometres during the financial Year 2024-25. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said.

5. Assam’s First Satellite ‘AsamSat’ Gets ISRO’s Green Signal. A crucial meeting took place between Assam’s Minister of Science and Technology, Keshab Mahanta, and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman Dr. V. Narayanan.

6. ISRO has achieved a major milestone in its semi-cryogenic engine development program by successfully conducting the first hot test of the Engine Power Head Test Article (PHTA) on 28 March 2025, at the ISRO Propulsion Complex in Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu.

7. Telangana government cleared 400 acres of forest in Kancha Gachibowli village in Rangareddy district. The State has estimated a revenue of around Rs 10,000 to 15,000 crore from the auction. There are plans to develop the area into world-class IT parks and improved urban living spaces.

8. The government has approved the appointment of Poonam Gupta as the new Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. She will succeed Micheal Debabrata Patra, who demitted office in January this year.

12. Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has expanded its Multi-Banking Centralised Collection System by empanelling 15 more banks, bringing the total number of banks in the panel to 32.

13. 14. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Thailand to participate in the 6th BIMSTEC Summit. This will be the Prime Minister’s third visit to Thailand after 2016 and 2019.

15. Parliament has passed the Immigration and Foreigners Bill, 2025 with the Rajya Sabha approving it. It repeals the Passport (Entry into India) Act, 1920, the Registration of Foreigners Act, 1939, the Foreigners Act, 1946, and the Immigration (Carriers’ Liability) Act, 2000.

16. The 7th India-Japan Maritime Affairs Dialogue was held in Tokyo, Japan. During the dialogue, the two sides conferred on ways to sustain a secure maritime environment conducive to inclusive growth and global well-being.
