1. Manmohan Singh Receives PV Narasimha Rao Award (Posthumous). Late Dr. Manmohan Singh earned the P.V. Narasimha Rao Memorial Award for Economics for his role in India’s transformation.Montek Singh Ahluwalia presented the award; Gursharan Kaur received it in New Delhi.PVNMF instituted the award to honour outstanding economic contributions.
2. Udaipur Becomes Ramsar Wetland City. Udaipur earned the Ramsar Wetland City Accreditation in 2025 for wetland conservation. The recognition came during the Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan & Wetland Cities Recognition Ceremony. Union Minister Bhupender Yadav presented the certificate to Udaipur’s administration. Udaipur earned the award through community participation, lake protection, and urban planning integration.
3. Prime Minister to Inaugurate Bairabi-Sairang Railway in Mizoram. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the Bairabi-Sairang railway line connecting Aizawl to India’s rail network. The new line spans over 51 kilometres and cost roughly ₹8,000 crore. For the first time Mizoram connected with Indian Railway Network.
4. Namo Bharat Becomes India’s Fastest Train. The Namo Bharat train now runs at 160 km/h on Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor. It covers 55 km of the 82.15 km route, reaching Meerut in under an hour.
5. Purple Fest 2025 Champions Disability Inclusion. ISLRTC and Amity University Noida organized Purple Fest 2025 on 10-11 September. They promoted equality, dignity and confidence for persons with disabilities (Divyangjan).
6. Tamil Nadu Protests Exempting Atomic Mining from Public Consultation. CM M.K. Stalin opposes the Environment Ministry’s memorandum exempting atomic mineral mining from consultations. He urges PM Modi to withdraw that office memorandum.
7. India Hits 250 GW Non-Fossil Capacity, Eyes 500 GW by 2030. India has achieved 250 GW non-fossil fuel power capacity. The country aims to reach 500 GW renewable energy by 2030.
8. Animated Film Mahavatar Narsimha Becomes Big Hit. Mahavatar Narsimha, directed by Ashwin Kumar of Hombale Films, earned over ₹300 crore globally. Its budget was about ₹40 crore; it defied expectations and became a blockbuster.
9. NPCI Raises P2M UPI Transaction Limits. From 15 September, NPCI increases UPI Person-to-Merchant (P2M) limit to ₹10 lakh per 24 hours for verified merchants. This aims to ease high-value digital purchases while keeping security strong.
10. All India Thal Sainik Camp 2025 Concludes. The 12-day camp in Delhi Cantt involved 1,547 NCC cadets from 17 directorates. Punjab-Haryana-Himachal-Chandigarh won 1st for boys; Karnataka-Goa for girls.
11. Mauritius PM Visits Ayodhya; India-Mauritius Sign MoUs. Mauritius PM Navin Chandra Ramgoolam performed pooja at Shri Ramlala temple in Ayodhya. India and Mauritius signed MoUs in science, power, space, oceanography etc. They approved a 17.5 MW floating solar PV project at Tamarind Falls via NTPC support.
12. First Overseas Atal Innovation Centre Opens in UAE. India inaugurated its first overseas Atal Innovation Centre at IIT Delhi–Abu Dhabi campus. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan led the event.
13. UK-India Infrastructure Financing Bridge Marks One Year. The UK-India Infrastructure Financing Bridge (UKIIFB) completed one year in 2025. It aims to accelerate infrastructure investment under UK-India cooperation.
14. Sushila Karki Becomes Nepal’s Interim Prime Minister. Former Chief Justice Sushila Karki took oath as Nepal’s interim PM. President Ramchandra Paudel then dissolved the House of Representatives. Nepal plans fresh elections for 21 March 2026.
15. Albania Appoints AI-Generated Government Minister. Albania nominates the world’s first AI-generated government minister to reduce corruption. Prime Minister Edi Rama introduced this digital minister into his cabinet.
