- India Achieves Record Ocean Exploration Depths. India achieved a major milestone in August 2025 in deep-sea exploration. Two Indian aquanauts descended to 4,025 and 5,002 metres in the Atlantic Ocean. This feat places India among fewer than six nations capable of exploring such depths. The expedition was part of an Indo-French collaboration using the French submersible Nautile. It strengthens India’s preparation for the Samudrayan Mission. The mission targets 6,000 metres using the indigenous submersible MATSYA-6000 by 2027. This achievement highlights India’s growing deep-sea research capabilities.
- Devika Sihag Clinches Women’s Singles Title at Malaysia International. Devika Sihag won the women’s singles title at the Malaysia International Challenge 2025 in Ipoh. She defeated fellow Indian and fifth seed Isharani Baruah 15-7, 15-12 in a swift 25-minute final. This victory marked her first BWF International Challenge title. She had earlier triumphed at Swedish Open and Portugal International Series events in 2024.
