1. The Parliament of India has passed the Carriage of Goods by Sea Bill, 2025, marking a major reform in India’s maritime trade laws. The Rajya Sabha approved the Bil. Parliament has passed the Coastal Shipping Bill, 2025 with the Rajya Sabha approving it. The Lok Sabha has already passed the Bill. The Bill seeks to regulate vessels engaged in trade within the country’s coastal waters.
2. PM Modi has said that India will never compromise on the interests of its farmers, fishermen and dairy farmers. He was addressing the M.S. Swaminathan Centenary International Conference in New Delhi yesterday. Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the welfare of the farmers remains the utmost priority of his government.
