  1. The Deendayal Port Authority at Kandla in Gujarat has commissioned India’s 1st Make-in-India Green Hydrogen Plant in the port sector.
  2. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is aiming for a 2027 launch for its first LVM3 launch vehicle equipped with a semi-cryogenic propulsion stage. ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan said. Formerly known as the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mk III (GSLV Mk III), the three-stage LVM3 had its first experimental flight in December, 2014. It is ISRO’s most powerful rocket to date. The semi-cryogenic stage is designed to make it even more formidable, enhancing payload capability while keeping costs down.
  3. The Indian space sector is aiming to achieve an 8 to 10 per cent share in the global commercial space market over the next 10 years, and for that, a lot of work needs to be done, ISRO Chairman Dr V Narayanan said.
  4. Ahead of the Delhi Assembly Monsoon Session beginning from today, the Delhi Assembly has become paperless. Union Minister of State for Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, inaugurated the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) and 500-kilowatt rooftop solar power plant in the Delhi Assembly premises.

  7. Indian Postal Department has announced the discontinuation of its iconic Registered Post service, marking the end of a 50-year era. From 1 September 2025, the service will be phased out as part of a strategic integration with Speed Post, aimed at modernising operations.
  8. Pune-based Quantum Tech FPV has successfully delivered its first Fibre Optic FPV (First Person View) drone to the Indian Army, marking a significant milestone in indigenous drone technology and defence capability.
  9. The Krasheninnikov Volcano on Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula erupted yesterday for the first time in 600 years. Krasheninnikov’s last known eruption occurred around 1463.
  10. Leading Baloch human rights defender Mir Yar Baloch has said that Balochistan is actively and enthusiastically preparing to celebrate the National Day of Independence on August 11 despite restrictions imposed by the occupying Pakistani forces.
