  1. PM Modi addressed the YUGM Conclave, a first-of-its-kind strategic conclave convening leaders from government, academic, industry and innovators at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
  2. The Union Home Minister announced that the central government is working towards a Naxal-free India by Launching of Operation Kagar. Government of India setting a target to eliminate Naxalism by 31st March 2026, ensuring that no citizen has to lose their life because of it.
  3. Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju has extended his wishes to all one lakh 22 thousand 518 pilgrims undertaking the sacred Haj journey. The first flights took off with 288 pilgrims from Lucknow and 262 pilgrims from Hyderabad.
  4. Amid controversy over alleged unauthorised use of Israeli spyware Pegasus for surveillance of politicians, journalists, activists and others. The Supreme Court said there was nothing wrong in using a spyware for security purposes even as it assured that individual apprehensions of privacy breach will be addressed.
  5. Investigations have identified Hashim Musa, a Pakistani national, as the mastermind behind the Pahalgam attack. Crucially, Musa is a former para commando of the Pakistan Army’s Special Forces, specifically believed to have served in the elite Special Service Group (SSG).
  6. After being dismissed from the Pakistan Army, he joined the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
  7. The Government has approved the procurement of Tur, Urad and Masur under Price Support Scheme equivalent to 100 percent of the production of the state for the procurement year 2024-25.

Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD), under the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” initiative, signed two contracts with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for the supply of 156 Light Combat Helicopters (LCH), also known as Prachand, along with training and associated equipment. The contracts have a total value of ₹62,700 crore (approximately $7.36 billion), excluding taxes.
