1. Parliament Passes SHANTI Nuclear Energy Bill, 2025. Parliament passed the Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India (SHANTI) Bill, 2025. The Bill opens India’s nuclear power sector to private participation and promotes the peaceful use of nuclear energy and ionising radiation for national welfare and clean energy expansion.
2. Viksit Bharat–G RAM G Bill Approved by Parliament. The Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, 2025 was passed by Parliament. The legislation replaces MGNREGA and introduces a new rural development framework aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
3. New Logo Unveiled for Regional Rural Banks. The Government unveiled a new logo for Regional Rural Banks (RRBs). According to the Ministry of Finance, the logo symbolises progress, nurture and enlightenment, reflecting the RRBs’ commitment to rural development and financial inclusion.
4. Renowned Sculptor Ram Vanji Sutar Passes Away. Legendary sculptor Ram Vanji Sutar passed away at the age of 100 in Noida. He designed the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue at 182 metres. He was awarded the Padma Shri (1999) and Padma Bhushan (2016).
5. JPC Meeting on One Nation One Election Held. The Joint Parliamentary Committee meeting on One Nation One Election legislation was held in New Delhi under the chairmanship of BJP MP P. P. Chaudhary. The committee is examining constitutional and electoral reforms related to synchronized elections.
