1. Government Introduces VB–G Ram G Bill to Replace MGNREGA. The Union Government introduced the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Bill, 2025 in the Lok Sabha. The Bill seeks to replace the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005. The new framework aims to modernise rural employment generation, improve livelihood security, and align welfare delivery with the vision of Viksit Bharat.

 

2. Lok Sabha Passes Repealing and Amending Bill, 2025. Parliament passed the Repealing and Amending Bill, 2025 to repeal 71 obsolete laws. These include the Indian Tramways Act, 1886 and the Levy Sugar Price Equalisation Fund Act, 1976. The move supports legal simplification, reduces compliance burden, and improves governance efficiency.

 

3. Insurance Laws Amendment Bill Passed. The Lok Sabha passed the Sabka Bima Sabki Raksha (Amendment of Insurance Laws) Bill, 2025. The Bill amends the Insurance Act, LIC Act, and IRDA Act. It aims to expand insurance penetration, strengthen policyholder protection, and accelerate sectoral growth. The Bill was introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

 

4. Parliament Clears Appropriation (No.4) Bill 2025. Parliament approved the Appropriation (No.4) Bill, 2025, authorising expenditure from the Consolidated Fund of India for FY 2025-26. The Bill ensures continuity of government spending after approval of supplementary demands for grants.

 

5. India Strengthens Global Cooperation Against Drug Trafficking. India has signed bilateral agreements with 27 countries and MoUs with 19 countries to combat illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. The move strengthens international cooperation in law enforcement and intelligence sharing.

 

6. PM-KISAN Disburses ₹4.09 Lakh Crore. The Government has disbursed over ₹4.09 lakh crore through 21 instalments under the PM-KISAN scheme. The scheme provides direct income support to farmers and remains a key pillar of agricultural welfare.

 

7. India Launches AI-Based Screening for Diabetic Retinopathy. India launched its first AI-driven community screening programme for Diabetic Retinopathy. The initiative supports early detection of diabetic eye disease and strengthens public health surveillance using artificial intelligence.

 

8. India’s First Wildlife-Safe Highway Launched. NHAI introduced India’s first wildlife-safe road on NH-45 in Madhya Pradesh. The project integrates wildlife crossings to reduce animal-vehicle collisions while balancing infrastructure growth and ecological conservation.

 

9. Raj Kumar Goyal Appointed Chief Information Commissioner. Retired IAS officer Raj Kumar Goyal was sworn in as the Chief Information Commissioner of the Central Information Commission. The CIC plays a crucial role in enforcing the Right to Information Act.

 

10. India Builds First Autonomous Maritime Shipyard. Sagar Defence announced India’s first autonomous maritime shipyard at Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. The ₹45-crore facility will design unmanned surface and underwater vessels, generate 750 jobs, and begin commercial production by November 2026.
