1. Government Directs Smartphone Makers to Preload Sanchar Saathi App. The Government of India directed all major smartphone manufacturers to preload the state-owned cybersecurity app Sanchar Saathi on every new device within 90 days. The app aims to prevent mobile fraud, verify device authenticity, and strengthen telecom security.

2. India Observes National Pollution Control Day on 2 December. India observed National Pollution Control Day, commemorating victims of the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy. The day promotes environmental awareness, industrial safety, and stronger pollution-control measures nationwide.

3. Kashi-Tamil Sangamam 4 Inaugurated in Varanasi. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and UP CM Yogi Adityanath jointly inaugurated the fourth Kashi-Tamil Sangamam in Varanasi. The event strengthens cultural, linguistic, and educational ties between Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.

5. Debate Intensifies Over Proposal to Rename Raj Bhavans as Lok Bhavans. Following MHA’s advisory to consider renaming Raj Bhavans as Lok Bhavans, Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin stated that true progress requires a change in mindset beyond name changes, triggering political debate across states.

6. DoT Issues Orders to OTT Apps to Prevent Telecom Identifier Misuse. The Department of Telecommunications directed major OTT communication platforms—including WhatsApp, Telegram, Snapchat, Signal, Arattai and JioChat—to prevent misuse of telecom identifiers, strengthening digital security.

7. Malayalam Film ‘Drishyam 3’ Enters ₹350 Crore Club Mid-Shooting. The upcoming Malayalam film ‘Drishyam 3’, written and directed by Jeethu Joseph and led by Mohanlal, crossed the ₹350-crore mark even before shooting concluded, marking a new achievement for Indian cinema.

9. PM Modi Assures Support to Bangladesh for Khaleda Zia’s Medical Recovery. Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured “all possible support” to Bangladesh to aid the recovery of BNP Chairperson and former PM Khaleda Zia, currently in critical condition in Dhaka.

 

10. PM Modi Reaffirms Support to Sri Lanka Under Operation Sagar Bandhu. In a conversation with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, PM Modi reaffirmed India’s continued assistance under Operation Sagar Bandhu, supporting rescue and relief operations.

11. India to Chair International IDEA for First Time. India was invited to chair the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) for the first time. CEC Gyanesh Kumar assumed the Chairship in Stockholm, representing India’s commitment to democratic cooperation.

 

12. India Qualifies for 2026 AFC U17 Asian Cup. India’s U17 men’s football team qualified for the 2026 AFC U17 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia. Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya congratulated the team for this major achievement.

 

13. India Wins Silver in Sultan Azlan Shah Cup Hockey Tournament. India secured a silver medal at the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2025 after a 1–0 loss to Belgium in the final. This marks India’s strong comeback and consistent performance in international hockey.
