  1. Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) has initiated the development of navigation infrastructure  in partnership with the Government of J&K on three National Waterways—Chenab (NW-26), Jhelum (NW-49), and Ravi (NW-84)—to boost river transport and tourism. A new office has also been inaugurated in Srinagar to coordinate these activities.
  2.   A public interest litigation (PIL) petition has been filed in the Madras High Court to declare as null and void the 12 amendment Acts passed by the Tamil Nadu legislature to make the State government, instead of the Governor, the appointing authority for Vice-Chancellors of various State-run universities.
